Frequently Asked Questions

OMILI is located at Rue Bebey Eyidi Akwa, in the building opposite Pharmacie des Hôpitaux on the second floor.

Our facilities include 4 air-conditioned classrooms, a conference room, interactive TV/Whiteboards, toilets and a networked computer lab. A few parking spaces are also available in the well kept environment around the building.

OMILI offers German language courses for all levels from absolute beginner (A1) to fluency (C2). C2 and medical German language are offered once a year or on request.

Schedule an appointment and let us know your needs and goals. During our first meeting, we will assess your knowledge of the German language level and assign you to the right course.

We teach all year round. You can take a placement test consisting of a written and oral part on your first day. This allows us to determine your level of German and place you with the right group of students.

New students are welcome all year round. Classes begin every first Monday of the month. Schedule an appointment to take
the assessment test and begin.

Cash, bank transfer, MoMo and PayPal. Course fees must be paid in full and in advance. This is the only way to secure your spot for the course.

The normal duration for A1 and A2 is 8weeks each. The B1, B2, C1 and C2 courses each take 12 weeks to complete.

We use different books, texts and exercises from different publishers to create the course materials that best suit each level. You will need supporting materials such as dictionaries and of course notepads.

Each lesson is scheduled to last 45mins. 4-6 lessons are
taught each session with a 10-20 mininutes break in between. Theory is followed by practice so that each class lasts about 3,5hours.

There is no clear answer to this question. Determining factors include the objective for learning German, the time and effort you are willing to put in, your natural talent for languages and how often you practise.

A study conducted by Foreign Service Institute (FSI) rated German as a category 2 language (similar to English) and estimated 750 classroom hours are necessary to achieve a semi-proficient level.

A revision session can be arranged at an extra cost, to cover the lessons you missed. A fee per hour is charged and can be split with other candidates who missed the same lesson.

All courses take place in-person. On our page you will find links to useful videos for after-school listening and speaking exercises. Access to these videos is only for registered members.

Yes. The more time you spend learning German,
the faster you become fluent. Our extracurricular activities are also a fun and interactive means to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

We can issue proof of participation at a completed or currently-attended language course. Language certificates can only be obtained after successful completion of exams taken at a recognised test center like the Goethe Institute. We offer exam preparation tutorials at the end of each language course.
